Sylvan is a small town located in Richland County, Wisconsin, in the United States. In the year 2000, about 547 people lived there.

Several smaller places are found within Sylvan. These include the communities of Bosstown, Sabin, and a place also called Sylvan. There was once a "ghost town" named Mill Creek here too, which means it's a town that no longer has people living in it.

The Story of Sylvan: A Look at Its Past

The first people to settle in the area that would become Sylvan arrived in 1853. This was the very beginning of the town.

Just one year later, in 1854, Sylvan officially separated from another town called Forest. This meant Sylvan could start to govern itself. In April 1855, the new town held its first election. Thirty-two people voted to choose their leaders.
