Community Changes Over Time
Over time, the people living in Milton-Montford have changed. Today, most residents are African-American. The neighborhood is currently going through a period of change. This change is partly due to something called gentrification. Gentrification happens when an area becomes more popular and expensive. In Milton-Montford, this is happening because of Johns Hopkins Hospital nearby.
Since 2016, more houses have been sold in Milton-Montford. The prices of these houses have also gone up a lot. This increase in housing costs is also partly because of a new development called Station East, which is close by.
