The Min kingdom (Chinese: 閩; pinyin: Mǐn) was an important state in ancient China. It was one of the Ten Kingdoms that existed between the years 909 and 945 AD. This kingdom was located in a mountainous area, which is now the Fujian province of China.
Min had a history of being mostly independent. Its capital city was Fuzhou. The kingdom was founded by a leader named Wang Shenzhi, who later became known as Emperor Taizu.

Who Ruled the Min Kingdom?
The Min Kingdom had several rulers during its time. Here are the main leaders and when they ruled:
Founding Ruler: Wang Shenzhi
- Wang Shenzhi (also known as Emperor Taizu) ruled from 909 to 925. He was the founder of the Min Kingdom. He started as a prince and helped establish the state.
Early Rulers After the Founder
- Wang Yanhan ruled for a short time, from 925 to 926.
- Wang Yanjun (also known as Emperor Huizong) ruled from 926 to 935. He was the first to declare himself an emperor of Min in 933.
- Wang Jipeng (also known as Emperor Kangzong) ruled from 935 to 939.
- Wang Yanxi (also known as Emperor Jingzong) ruled from 939 to 944.
Later Rulers and the End of Min
- Zhu Wenjin ruled from 944 to 945.
- Wang Yanzheng ruled from 943 to 945. He was also known as the Emperor of Yin and later Emperor of Min. His rule saw the end of the Min Kingdom. The kingdom was eventually taken over by the Southern Tang state.
