Minden-Lübbecke is a special area in Germany called a Kreis, which means "district". It's located in the northeastern part of North Rhine-Westphalia, one of Germany's states. This district was created in 1973. It was formed when two older districts, Minden and Lübbecke, joined together.

Understanding the Minden-Lübbecke Coat of Arms
The coat of arms for Minden-Lübbecke tells a story about its history. It has two main parts.
Symbols on the Coat of Arms
On the right side of the coat of arms, you can see zigzag lines. These are called chevrons. They come from the old coat of arms of the Counts of Ravensberg. These counts used to own some of the land that is now part of the district.
The keys on the coat of arms are very important symbols. They represent the Prince-Bishops of Minden. These were church leaders who also ruled the area a long time ago. The keys are a sign of their patron, Saint Peter. When the two districts of Minden and Lübbecke merged in 1973, a second key was added. This was to show that the new district included both historic areas. The new coat of arms was officially approved in 1973.
