What are Castellers?
Castellers are a special tradition from Catalonia. Groups of people work together to build tall human towers. Each tower has a specific number of levels and people. It takes a lot of teamwork, strength, and balance. The goal is to build the tower and then take it down safely.
Minyons de Terrassa: Their Story
The Minyons de Terrassa group quickly became very skilled. They are known for pushing the limits of what human towers can be. They practice hard to build complex and very tall structures. Their home base is in Terrassa, where they train and prepare for performances.
Record-Breaking Achievements
Minyons de Terrassa has made history many times. On November 22, 2015, they achieved something incredible. They were the first group ever to successfully build and then safely take down a 4 de 10 amb folre i manilles. This is a very difficult tower. It means a tower with 10 levels, with 4 people on each level. The "folre" and "manilles" are extra support layers at the base.
Some of their other amazing towers include:
- The "4 in 10 with triple base"
- The "3 in 10 with triple base"
- The "4 in 9 with single base"
- The "3 in with double base and the wedge"
They often perform at big events. Two of their most important yearly performances are the Festa Major de Terrassa in July and the Diada dels Minyons de Terrassa in November.
