Miquel Llor i Forcada was a famous Catalan writer and storyteller. He was born in Barcelona on May 3, 1894, and passed away on May 2, 1966.
Miquel Llor was not only a writer but also a translator. He translated books from Italian and French, including works by well-known authors like Alberto Moravia and André Gide. He also wrote for newspapers, especially for a publication called Mirador.
His writing was influenced by important European authors such as Proust, Freud, Dostoevsky, and James Joyce. Miquel Llor is best known for his novel Laura a la ciutat dels sants (which means Laura in the city of saints). This book was so good that it won the Joan Crexells prize in 1930. He also worked for many years helping to edit Catalan texts for the Culture Department of the Barcelona City Council.
