About Miramar
Miramar covers a land area of about 26.9 square kilometers (about 10.4 square miles). In 2010, the population of Miramar was 1,232 people. This means there were about 45.8 people living in each square kilometer. Back in 2000, the population was a bit smaller, with 912 residents.
How Miramar Was Created
Miramar was officially established on March 7, 1997. This happened because of a special rule called Law 10. Later, two more rules, Law 5 (from January 19, 1998) and Law 69 (from October 28, 1998), helped to make sure everything was set up correctly for Miramar. These laws helped define Miramar as a corregimiento.
