Miriam Cruz became very popular as the main singer of a successful all-female merengue group. This group was called Las Chicas del Can. In 1992, she started her own group, Míriam Cruz y Las Chicas. She has been performing for over four decades! In 2022, she released a new song called "Tú ganas." That same year, she performed at the famous Lincoln Center in New York City.
