Mirko Hrgović's Club Career
Mirko Hrgović played for many different football clubs during his career. He played in several countries, including Bosnia and Herzegovina, Japan, Germany, and Croatia.
Playing for Široki Brijeg
Hrgović played for clubs like Posušje and Široki Brijeg in the top league of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He also played for Gamba Osaka and JEF United Chiba in Japan's J1 League. In Germany, he was part of VfL Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga.
He also played for two big rival clubs in Croatia: Hajduk Split and Dinamo Zagreb.
Joining Dinamo Zagreb
On July 18, 2008, Hrgović signed a three-year contract with Dinamo Zagreb. This move caused some debate among fans. Even though he didn't move directly from Hajduk Split to Dinamo, fans of Hajduk felt it was a betrayal. Dinamo fans also remembered a past disagreement between Hrgović and some of them.
Time at Greuther Fürth
On July 17, 2009, Hrgović signed a two-year contract with Greuther Fürth, a team in Germany's second division. However, he left the club on November 25, 2009.
Returning to Široki Brijeg
After leaving Greuther Fürth, Hrgović went back to his old club, Široki Brijeg, in March 2010.
Mirko Hrgović's International Career
Even though Mirko Hrgović was born in Croatia, he chose to play for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team. He made this decision because his performances were not noticed by the Croatian team. He became a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina while playing for Široki Brijeg.
He was first called to play for Bosnia and Herzegovina by coach Blaž Slišković.
First Games and Goals
Hrgović played his first game for Bosnia and Herzegovina in February 2003. It was a friendly match against Wales. He played a total of 29 games for his country and scored 2 goals.
He played regularly when Blaž Slišković was the coach. After Slišković left in 2006, Hrgović also played under coaches Fuad Muzurović and Meho Kodro. When Miroslav Blažević became coach, Hrgović was not called up for some games. However, he was later called back for the last two games of the 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign. These games were against Estonia and Spain. His last international game was in October 2009 against Spain.

After he stopped playing football, Mirko Hrgović became a manager. He worked as an assistant coach for several teams.
