Mitsubishi Carisma facts for kids

Kids Encyclopedia Facts

The Mitsubishi Carisma was a special car made by Mitsubishi Motors. It was built between 1995 and 2004. Think of it as a family car, designed to be practical and comfortable. It even got a fresh new look in 1999!

This car had an interesting connection. It was related to the first-generation Volvo S40 and Volvo V40 cars. What's even cooler is that all these cars were built in the same factory in the Netherlands. This shows how car companies sometimes work together!

What Made it Go? Engines!

Every car needs an engine to move, and the Mitsubishi Carisma had several options! Engines are like the heart of the car, turning fuel into power. Different engines offer different amounts of power, measured in kilowatts (kW) or horsepower (hp).

The Carisma came with a variety of engines over its lifetime, giving drivers choices for how much power they wanted:

  • Smaller engines, like the 1.3-liter, were good for everyday driving.
  • Medium-sized engines, such as the 1.6-liter and 1.8-liter, offered more power for highways or carrying more passengers.
  • There were also special GDI (Gasoline Direct Injection) engines that were designed to be more fuel-efficient.
  • For those who preferred diesel, there were 1.9-liter TD and DI-D engines, known for being good on fuel for longer trips.
