Mitsumasa Yoda (依田 光正, Yoda Mitsumasa, born August 7, 1977) is a former Japanese football (soccer) player. He was born in Tokyo, Japan. Yoda played as a defender, a position where players focus on stopping the other team from scoring.
About Mitsumasa Yoda
Mitsumasa Yoda started his football journey in high school. He played for Teikyo High School from 1993 to 1995. After that, he continued playing football at Teikyo University from 1996 to 1999. His hard work in university helped him become a professional player.
His Journey in Professional Football
In 2000, after finishing university, Yoda joined a professional team called Montedio Yamagata. This team played in the J2 League, which is one of Japan's top football leagues. He quickly became an important player. He often played as a right side back, helping both defend and attack.
Yoda played for Montedio Yamagata for four years, until 2003. In 2004, he moved to another team called Thespa Kusatsu. At that time, Thespa Kusatsu was in the Japan Football League. This league is just below the J2 League.
He continued to play many matches for Thespa Kusatsu. His team did very well. In 2005, Thespa Kusatsu was promoted to the J2 League. This meant they moved up to a higher division. Mitsumasa Yoda played for Thespa Kusatsu until the end of the 2006 season. After that, he retired from playing professional football. Throughout his career, he played a total of 87 league games.
