Mitya Fomin (born January 17, 1974) is a Russian singer, dancer, and music producer. He is known by his stage name, Mitya Fomin. From 1998 to 2009, he was a member of the popular dance group Hi-Fi. After leaving the group, he started a successful solo career.

Early Life and Family
Mitya Fomin was born on January 17, 1974. His father, Anatoly Fomin, was a professor at the Institute of Communications. His mother, Tamara Fomina, worked as an engineer.
Time with Hi-Fi
Mitya Fomin moved to Moscow. There, his friends Eric Chanturia (a producer) and Pavel Esenin (a composer) invited him to join a new music group. In 1998, Mitya became a member of Hi-Fi. He performed alongside Oksana Oleshko and later Tatyana Tereshina.
During his time with Hi-Fi, Mitya began to work on his own music. He collaborated with various writers and composers. After more than ten years with the band, he decided to leave in January 2009.
Solo Music Career
After leaving Hi-Fi, Mitya Fomin started his solo career. In March 2009, he released his first solo song, "Две земли" (Dve zemli), which means "Two Lands." He worked with songwriter and producer Maxim Fadeev on this song.
In late 2010, Mitya released his first solo album. It was called Так будет (Tak budet), which means "So It Will Be." The album featured his hit songs. It also included rhythmic, relaxing, and easy-to-dance-to tracks. He released another single, "Перезимуем" (Perezimuem), with StuFF. Mitya even directed the music video for this song himself.
He also had a dance hit called "Огни большого города (Paninaro)" (Ogni Bolshogo Goroda). This song means "City Lights." He collaborated with the famous music group Pet Shop Boys on this track. Later, he released "Не манекен" (Ne maneken), meaning "Not a Mannequin," with Christina Orsa. The video for this song was filmed in Hong Kong.
Other Projects
Besides singing, Mitya Fomin is also a talented director. He has directed many of his own music videos. He also directs videos for other artists. For example, he directed Yena's video for "Эксбой" (Exboy). In 2011, he was part of a Russian reality television show called Жена напрокат.
