Mohamed Zaoui was born on May 14, 1960. He is a former middleweight boxer from Algeria. He made history by winning a bronze medal at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. This made him the very first person from Algeria to win an Olympic medal.

Mohamed Zaoui was born in a small village called Zaouiet Yagoubi. This village is located near Nedroma in the Tlemcen Province of Algeria. When he was only five months old, his family moved to Évin-Malmaison, France.

Mohamed Zaoui is best known for his success at the 1984 Summer Olympics. He competed in the Middleweight division, which was for boxers weighing between 71 and 75 kilograms. He bravely fought his way to a bronze medal. He shared this special award with Puerto Rico's Arístides González.
