Mohammed Hanif (born in November 1964) is a talented writer and journalist. He is from both Pakistan and the United Kingdom. His articles and stories have appeared in famous newspapers like The New York Times and The Washington Post.
Mohammed Hanif used to work for BBC News in Karachi, Pakistan. He also wrote a movie about Karachi called The Long Night. He has written two novels, A Case of Exploding Mangoes and Our Lady of Alice Bhatti. He also wrote a play, The Dictator's Wife, which was performed on stage.

About Mohammed Hanif's Life
Mohammed Hanif was born in Okara, a city in Punjab. He first trained to be a pilot in the Pakistan Air Force. But he later decided to become a journalist instead.
He started his career writing for magazines and newspapers. Later, in 1996, he moved to London to work for the BBC. He even became the head of the BBC's Urdu language service there. In 2008, he moved back to Pakistan. He also studied at the University of East Anglia.

Mohammed Hanif's first novel, A Case of Exploding Mangoes, came out in 2008. This book was very popular. It was considered for important awards like the Man Booker Prize. It also won the Commonwealth Book Prize for Best First Book in 2009.
