Their Music Style
Momoclo's songs are known as "super energetic J-pop numbers." Their live shows have amazing dance moves that are carefully planned and often include acrobatics. The group is famous for their wild energy, which is sometimes compared to punk bands! Their fans also get super excited during concerts.
Because they dance so hard, the girls' voices might not always be perfectly steady. But guess what? They never lipsynch on stage! This means they always sing live. Overall, their music and performances are very new and exciting.
Momoclo has worked with many famous songwriters and musicians. These artists come from all kinds of music styles, from pop to punk and even heavy metal! For example, Marty Friedman, a famous guitarist, played guitar for their song "Mōretsu Uchū Kōkyōkyoku Dai 7 Gakushō «Mugen no Ai»" (猛烈宇宙交響曲・第七楽章「無限の愛」). He even performed with them at one of their concerts!

How They Got Their Name
The group started in the spring of 2008. They officially debuted as a six-member group a year later. Their first name was "Momoiro Clover", which means "Pink Clover." This name was chosen to show that the group was made of innocent girls who wanted to bring happiness to everyone.
In 2011, something big happened: Akari Hayami, who was a sub-leader, suddenly left the group. After this, the management added the letter "Z" to their name. In Japan, the letter "Z" is a symbol of getting better and evolving!
The group also has a nickname: "Weekend Heroines" (週末ヒロイン, Shūmatsu Hiroin). This is because most of the members were students, and they mostly performed on weekends.
Momoclo really cares about their fans. Their slogan is "Idols you can meet right now" (いま、会えるアイドル, Ima, aeru aidoru). They used to perform in parks for people walking by. They even gave free concerts in electronics stores and sold their own CDs! Even though they became super famous, they still show how much they appreciate their fans. At their concerts and events, they do a deep and long ojigi, which is a bow to say thank you.
