Momoko Ando (安藤 桃子, Andō Momoko, born March 19, 1982) is a talented Japanese film director and novelist. She is known for creating movies and books that tell interesting stories.

Momoko comes from a creative family. Her father, Eiji Okuda, is an actor, and her mother, Kazu Ando, is a writer.

She studied arts in the United Kingdom at the University of London. After that, she went to New York University to learn about filmmaking. She started her career working as an assistant in the film industry.

Starting as a Film Director

In 2010, Momoko Ando directed her first movie, Kakera: A Piece of Our Life. This film was based on a Japanese comic book, also known as a manga.

Writing and Directing 0.5 mm

In 2011, Momoko Ando wrote a novel called 0.5 mm. A few years later, in 2014, she turned her own book into a movie with the same name. She wrote the script and directed the film herself. Her sister, Sakura Ando, who is also an actress, starred in the movie. The film 0.5 mm was filmed in Kōchi, Kōchi, Japan.

Momoko Ando got married in March 2014 to someone who is not famous. She also announced that she was expecting her first child. Her child was born in March 2015.

Momoko Ando continues to work in film and writing. She has also been involved in other projects, like hosting a regular segment on a TV show called Heart Net TV on NHK-E.
