Early Life and Learning
Monica Owusu-Breen has a unique background. She describes herself as being "half-Spanish" and "half Ghanaian." She was born in England and lived in Spain when she was a child. She learned to speak English by watching television! When she was eight, her family moved to Brooklyn, New York.
After finishing her studies at Brown University, Monica helped produce music videos. Later, she went to the University of California, San Diego. There, she studied TV and media, earning a special degree in the field.
