The Montana Dinosaur Trail is a cool network of 14 dinosaur-themed museums, state parks, and other fun places. These spots are spread across 12 towns in central and eastern Montana, USA. Imagine a treasure hunt, but for dinosaurs!

This trail was created to help more people visit these museums and boost tourism in Montana. Many museums, along with state and federal groups, worked together to make it happen. The idea started at a meeting in Malta, Montana. Groups like Custer Country and Travel Montana helped launch the trail.

The Dinosaur Trail officially opened in May 2005. In its first year, over 196,000 people visited! Since then, between 236,000 and 302,000 visitors explore the trail each year. To make it even more exciting, visitors can get a "Prehistoric Passport". On this passport, you collect special dinosaur stamps from each museum you visit. The trail has also helped other small businesses along the route, bringing more visitors to them too.
