Montecorto is a small town and municipality in southern Spain. It is located in the Province of Málaga, which is part of the Andalusia region. Montecorto is known for its beautiful natural surroundings.

About Montecorto
Montecorto is a very small town. In 2018, only about 585 people lived there. It covers an area of about 48 square kilometers. The town is located about 500 meters above sea level. This means it is quite high up, often surrounded by hills or mountains.
Becoming a Municipality
Montecorto became its own municipality on October 17, 2014. Before this date, it was part of a larger municipality called Ronda. Becoming a separate municipality means Montecorto now has its own local government. This allows the town to make more decisions for itself.
Local Government
Like other towns, Montecorto has a mayor who leads the local government. The mayor's name is Miguel Ayala. He is part of the Andalusian Party (PA). The mayor and the local council work to improve the town. They manage things like local services and community projects.
Location and Nature
Montecorto is in the Serranía de Ronda area. This region is famous for its stunning natural landscapes. It has mountains, valleys, and beautiful views. The area is great for outdoor activities like hiking. The image of Montecorto from Cerro Coros shows how it fits into this natural setting.
