Montego Glover (born February 9, 1974) is an American actress and singer. She is famous for her roles in many Broadway musicals. She was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical for her part in Memphis. She also won the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Actress in a Musical.

From September 2015 to February 2016, Montego played Fantine in the Broadway show Les Misérables. Later, from September 2017 to March 2019, she was Angelica Schuyler in the Chicago production of Hamilton.

In September 2022, she began sharing the role of the Witch in the Broadway revival of Into the Woods. She continued this role in the national tour in 2023. In 2025, she starred as Rose in the Broadway musical Gypsy.

Early Life and Training

Montego Glover was born in Macon, Georgia. She grew up in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She went to the Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences. After that, she studied at Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. She earned a degree in Music Theatre with honors. Montego has sung in church choirs since she was very young.

Broadway Success

Montego Glover has performed in many shows on Broadway. One of her most famous roles was Felicia in the musical Memphis. For this role, she was nominated for a Tony Award. This award is one of the highest honors in American theater. She also won a Drama Desk Award for her performance. Critics said she had a "rich, powerful voice." Montego was part of Memphis from its early stages. She also appeared in the live film version, Memphis: Direct from Broadway.

Her first time on Broadway was as an understudy. She filled in for the main roles of Celie and Nettie in The Color Purple.

Other Performances

Besides her theater work, Montego Glover has used her voice in other ways. She has been a voice actor for Star Wars video games. She has also done voice-overs for TV commercials. In the late 1990s, she worked at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. Her voice can be heard on the official soundtrack for the Festival of the Lion King show. She also appeared as a guest star on the TV show White Collar.
