Monterey is located in the western part of Concordia Parish. It is found near where Louisiana Highway 129 and Louisiana Highway 565 meet. The community is southwest of a larger town called Ferriday. Monterey is also part of the Natchez, Mississippi–Louisiana Micropolitan Statistical Area. This area includes nearby towns and cities that are connected economically.
