Can Caballé. Montmeló Municipal Museum.

The Montmeló Municipal Museum is a cool place to learn about history in the town of Montmeló, located in Catalonia, Spain. It's found inside an old, beautiful house called Can Caballé, which was built around 1920. The town council bought this building in 1987. After some work, it opened its doors as a museum in 1998. This museum is also part of a bigger group called the Barcelona Provincial Council Local Museum Network.

What You'll See Inside

The main exhibit at the museum is called Montmeló, camins i anys, which means "Montmeló, pathways and years." This part of the museum shows how the town of Montmeló has changed over many, many years. It also connects Montmeló's story to the wider areas of El Vallès and Catalonia.

You can explore different sections that show items from various time periods. These include things from the Neolithic Age (when people first started farming). You'll also see artifacts from the Iberians and the Romans. Plus, there are items from the Medieval period, or the Middle Ages.

Most of these amazing old items come from a collection that Ignasi Cantarell loaned to the museum in 1998. In the section about the Middle Ages, you can even see special Romanesque murals. These are old wall paintings that are usually kept safe at the local Santa Maria de Montmeló church.
