Morongla Creek is a small town in Cowra Shire, New South Wales, Australia. It has about 40 people living there. The town is located 13 kilometers (about 8 miles) south of Cowra by road. Other small places nearby include Neila Creek, Cocomingla, Cucumgilliga, Wattamondara, Koorawatha, and Noonbinna.

Local Landmarks
Just south of the town, you can find Mount Stumbler. This mountain is an important local landmark. Near its base, there was once a swamp called Conlon's Swamp. Today, much of it is a farm dam, but it can still appear after heavy rains.
The Morongla Creek
The creek that gives the town its name starts near Mount Morris and Slatterys Hill. It flows north for about 30 kilometers (18 miles). Then, it joins the Lachlan River near Cowra. The creek also runs along the eastern side of the town's showground.

The Morongla Show
The Morongla Show is a big event held every year in October. It used to be called the Morongla Carnival. The show has many exciting activities. You can watch a Gymkhana, which is a horse riding competition. There are also Iron Woman and Iron Man contests. People also display local farm produce and crafts. You can enjoy afternoon tea in the Mechanics' Institute Hall. In 2019, the Morongla Show celebrated its 100th anniversary!
Working Sheepdog Trials
Another popular event is the annual Working Sheepdog Trials. These trials happen at the Morongla showground in August. Here, you can watch skilled sheepdogs and their handlers work together. They show how well they can herd sheep.
History of Morongla Creek
Morongla Creek was once a much busier place. It had more people and more services.
Past Businesses
In the past, Morongla Creek had a post office and several stores. From 1911 to 1916, Athur Ambrose Marks ran a blacksmith shop and a general store. A blacksmith is someone who works with metal. Later, Ben Cannon operated the smithy through the 1920s and 1930s. The general store was then run by Tom Middlemiss. His store sold many different things, from small items like mousetraps to large farm equipment like tractors.
Important Buildings
The Mechanics' Institute hall is a very important building in Morongla Creek. Inside, you can see two Honour Rolls. These rolls list the names of men and women from the area who served in both World War I and World War II. Over the years, some buildings in the town were lost. For example, the general store burned down during World War II. In the late 1960s, Saint Daniel's Catholic Church also burned down.
