Morshed Khan was born on 8 August 1940. He is a well-known politician from Bangladesh. He served as the country's Foreign Minister from 2001 to 2006. He was also a member of the Jatiya Sangsad, which is like Bangladesh's parliament. He represented the Chittagong-10 area for several terms.
Education and Early Life
Morshed Khan studied engineering in Japan. He earned his Bachelor of Engineering degree from the Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology. This education helped him prepare for his future career.
Political Career
Morshed Khan began his political journey in 1986. That year, he was first elected to the Jatiya Sangsad. This is the national parliament of Bangladesh.
He was elected to parliament three more times. These elections happened in February 1996, June 1996, and 2001. He represented the Chittagong-10 area.
From 2001 to 2006, Morshed Khan held a very important job. He served as the Foreign Minister for Bangladesh. In this role, he helped manage Bangladesh's relationships with other countries around the world. He also worked as a special helper to the prime minister. He led the Bangladesh Special Committee on Foreign Affairs.
Morshed Khan decided to step away from politics later on. He resigned from his role as vice president of the BNP party on 5 November 2019.
Personal Life
Morshed Khan is married to Nasrin Khan. She originally comes from Jalpaiguri. They have a son named Faisal Morshed Khan. Faisal used to be in charge of a mobile phone company in Bangladesh called CityCell Mobile.
