Morten Pedersen (born 12 April 1972) is a former professional football player from Norway. He played as a defender, which means his main role on the field was to stop the opposing team from scoring goals. After his playing career, Morten became a coach. He is currently the head coach for the under-21 team at Tromsø.

Morten Pedersen's Football Journey
Morten Pedersen's football career started in Norway. He played for a local team called Storsteinnes IL. Later, he moved to play for bigger clubs both in Norway and other countries.
Early Days and First Steps
In 1990, Morten moved to Denmark to play for Brøndby IF. This was his first time playing for a club outside Norway. However, he didn't play many matches there. After two years, he returned to Norway.
He joined Tromsø in 1992. He played for Tromsø for several years, becoming a regular player. In 1996, he moved to another Norwegian club, Brann. He played there for one season.
Playing Abroad: New Challenges
Morten decided to try playing in another country again. In 1997, he joined Borussia Mönchengladbach, a team in Germany's top league, the Bundesliga. Just like his time in Denmark, this move wasn't very successful. He returned to Norway after one year.
Back in Norway, he played for Rosenborg in 1998. With Rosenborg, he won the Tippeligaen, which is Norway's top football league. This was a big achievement in his career. In 1999, he also played for Vålerenga for a short time on loan.
After his time at Rosenborg, Morten tried playing abroad for a third time. He moved to Belgium to play for Gent. This time, his move was very successful! He played regularly and had a great time at the club. A fellow Norwegian coach, Trond Sollied, was managing Gent at the time.
Back Home and Retirement
Morten played for Gent for several seasons. In 2003, he decided to return to Tromsø, the club where he had played before. He continued to play for Tromsø until 2007.
During a match in 2006, Morten got an injury. This injury was serious and eventually led him to stop playing football professionally. He officially announced his retirement in August 2007. He was honored in a special ceremony at a home match in September 2007.
Life After Playing
After retiring as a player, Morten Pedersen started a new career in football as a coach. From 2009 to 2010, he was the head coach for Tromsdalen UIL. Today, he coaches the under-21 team at Tromsø, helping young players develop their skills.
