Morten Qvenild (born August 31, 1978) is a talented Norwegian jazz musician. He is known for playing the piano and keyboards. Morten is also a band leader and helps produce music for other artists.

Morten Qvenild's Musical Journey
Morten Qvenild began his jazz career in 1995. He played in a big band called Ung Musikk. Later, he studied jazz at the Norges Musikkhøgskole (Norwegian Academy of Music).
Early Bands and Collaborations
Morten played with several groups early in his career. These included Østenfor Sol and the OJ Trio with Ole Jørn Myklebust. He was also a member of the bands Shining from 1999 to 2003. From 2000 to 2002, he played with Jaga Jazzist.
Since 2000, Morten has been a key part of Susanna & the Magical Orchestra. He is also an original member of Solveig Slettahjell's Slow Motion Quintet. He often performs as a duo with Solveig Slettahjell.
Morten has also worked with other musicians. He played in the Jon Klette Quartet and The National Bank. He toured with Nils Petter Molvær's Khmer. He also toured with the Bertine Zetlitz Band in 2003 and 2004.
Forming In the Country
In 2003, Morten Qvenild started a trio called In the Country. He formed the band with his fellow students Roger Arntzen (bass) and Pål Hausken (drums). They recorded five albums together. These albums were released by Rune Grammofon.
On their albums Whiteout (2009) and Sounds and Sights (2011), they were joined by Andreas Mjøs. Andreas Mjøs plays many different instruments. Their last album was released by the German ACT label.
Special Performances
In 2011, Morten performed with Marit Larsen. They created a new version of Erik Bye's song Vår beste dag. This song became the theme tune for NRK's (Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation) profile campaign.
In 2017, Morten took part in a special recording. He played many instruments for a-ha's MTV Unplugged album. This album was called "Summer Solstice". He played instruments like upright piano, harpsichord, and mandolinette. He also played keyboards for their Electric Summer tour in 2018.
Awards and Recognition
Morten Qvenild has received several awards for his music.
- 2004: He won the JazzIntro Award with his band In the Country. This award was given at the Moldejazz festival.
- 2004: He won the Spellemannprisen (a major Norwegian music award) in two categories. He won for jazz music with Solveig Slettahjell. He also won for pop music with The National Bank.
- 2007: He received the Kongsberg Jazz Award.
- 2016: He won the Edvardprisen in the open class. This award was for his album Personal Piano.
