What's the Story?
Game Setting: A Look Back in Time
The game takes place 200 years before the events of Mount & Blade: Warband. It shows the time when the Calradian Empire was becoming weaker. New kingdoms, which you see in Mount & Blade: Warband, were starting to form. The look of armor, weapons, and buildings in the game is inspired by the years 600 to 1100 A.D.
Game Factions: Who Are the Groups?
Bannerlord will have six main groups, called factions. Each faction has its own clans. These clans have different goals and ways of playing. There are also smaller groups that you will meet in the game world.
How the Game Was Made
Game Development: Bringing the World to Life
In September 2012, TaleWorlds announced they were working on the game. They also released a first video to show what it would look like.
Game Improvements: Better Graphics and Gameplay
The game's graphics have been greatly improved. The way characters move, called animations, is also much better. There are also new ways to play the game. For example, the inventory system, where you manage your items, is easier to use. The artificial intelligence (AI) of computer-controlled characters is also smarter. These new features were shown at Gamescom in 2015. In March 2016, a special video showing 40 minutes of gameplay was shared with PC Gamer magazine.
