Mount Airy is one of the 52 neighborhoods in Cincinnati, Ohio. This neighborhood is home to Mount Airy Forest, which is one of the oldest city forests in the entire country! In 2020, about 9,210 people lived here.
A Look Back in Time
Mount Airy became its own small village in 1865. The land for the village came from nearby areas called Mill Creek and Green townships. Later, in 1911, Mount Airy joined the larger City of Cincinnati.
One of the coolest parts of Mount Airy is the huge Mount Airy Forest. It covers 1,471 acres, making it the biggest park in Cincinnati. You can also see the Mt. Airy water tower, which looks a bit like a castle! It was built between 1926 and 1927. This big structure has 13 towers and can hold 8.5 million gallons of water.
