Mount Carmel Cemetery is a large Catholic cemetery located in Hillside, Illinois, a suburb near Chicago. It's easy to find, being close to the Eisenhower Expressway (Interstate 290) and the intersection of Wolf and Roosevelt Roads. This cemetery is also near three other cemeteries: Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Catholic Cemetery, and Oakridge Glen Oaks Cemetery.

Mount Carmel Cemetery is quite big, covering about 214 acres (which is roughly 0.87 square kilometers). Many people are buried here; more than 226,275 individuals have found their final resting place at Mount Carmel.

A special building called the Bishop's Mausoleum is located within the cemetery. It was designed by William J. Brinkmann. This mausoleum is where the Bishops and Archbishops of Chicago are buried. For example, Cardinal Joseph Bernardin was buried there after he passed away in 1996. The cemetery also has over 400 family mausoleums, which are private tombs for families.
