Discovering Mount Carse
Mount Carse was carefully mapped and studied by a group called the South Georgia Survey (SGS). They explored the area between 1951 and 1957. The mountain was named after V. Duncan Carse. He was the leader of four different SGS expeditions during that time.
First Climb to the Top
The very first time anyone successfully climbed Mount Carse was on January 21, 1990. Two brave climbers, Brian Davison and Stephen Venables, made this historic ascent. They were part of an adventure called the Southern Ocean Mountaineering Expedition.
