Mount Curdie is a tall mountain located in the Northern Territory of Australia. It stands at 958 metres high, making it the highest point in the Curdie Range. This range is part of the larger Petermann Ranges.

Mount Curdie is found on the southern side of the Hull River. It is about 40 kilometres (25 mi) southeast of a place called Kaḻṯukatjara. The Great Central Road, an important route, passes by the mountain to its north.

Mount Curdie was named by an explorer named Ernest Giles. He discovered and named the mountain on 13 March 1874. This happened during his first journey through the Petermann Ranges.

Ernest Giles named the mountain after Dr. Daniel Curdie. Dr. Curdie had helped Giles by contributing money to his expedition. This support allowed Giles to explore new parts of Australia.

Other Peaks Named by Giles

After successfully climbing Mount Curdie, Giles continued his explorations. He went on to name other peaks in the Petermann Ranges. Some of these include Mounts Fagan and Miller, which are located further to the east.
