Mount Fridtjof Nansen is a very tall and large mountain in Antarctica. It stands out in the Queen Maud Mountains, located between two big ice rivers called the Strom Glacier and the Axel Heiberg Glacier.
Discovery of Mount Fridtjof Nansen
This impressive mountain was found by the famous explorer Roald Amundsen in 1911. Amundsen was leading an expedition to be the first to reach the South Pole.

Roald Amundsen named the mountain after his friend, Fridtjof Nansen. Nansen was also a brave explorer who studied the polar regions.
