Mountain View is a small place where people live in Whatcom County, in the U.S. state of Washington. It's not a city or a town with its own mayor. Instead, it's called an unincorporated community. This means the county government helps manage things for the people living there.

Mountain View got its name because of the amazing views of mountains from the area. Imagine looking out and seeing tall, beautiful mountains!
A post office opened in Mountain View in 1891. This was a very important place for people to send and receive letters and packages. The post office stayed open for many years, until 1908.
