Mountain View is a small place where people live in Whatcom County, in the U.S. state of Washington. It's not a city or a town with its own mayor. Instead, it's called an unincorporated community. This means the county government helps manage things for the people living there.

A post office opened in Mountain View in 1891. This was a very important place for people to send and receive letters and packages. The post office stayed open for many years, until 1908.
