Long ago, Mountaindale was known for its busy Mountain Dale Hosiery Mill. A hosiery mill is a factory where socks and stockings are made. This mill was owned by two people named J.P. and J.G. Ray. It was an important part of the community's past, providing jobs and products.

Today, Mountaindale is also home to a lovely spot called Mountaindale Beach. It's a great place for people to relax and enjoy the outdoors right within the Mountaindale area.
