Moussa Ali Hojeij (born 6 August 1974) is a famous Lebanese football manager and former player. He was known for being a great player and later a successful coach.
Hojeij was often named the best player at the Al-Manar Football Festival. He also had the honor of being the captain of the Lebanon national team. Today, he helps explain football matches on TV for beIN Sports.

Moussa Hojeij has had a long and exciting career in Lebanese football. He started as a player and then became a coach. He is known for his skills and leadership on the field.
His Playing Days
Moussa Hojeij played as an Attacking midfielder. This means he played in the middle of the field, helping to create goals. He was very good at scoring and setting up plays for his teammates.
Early Career and Nejmeh Success
Hojeij joined the youth team of Nejmeh on 26 February 1993. He quickly became a key player for the club. In 2000, he made history. He was the first captain to lead Nejmeh to win the Lebanese Premier League title after the civil war. This was a very important moment for the team.
He played for Nejmeh for many years, scoring 75 goals in the league. He was a true legend for the club.
Other Clubs and National Team
In 2006, Hojeij left Nejmeh and joined Mabarra. He continued to play well there. Later, in 2008, he played for Lebanese Second Division club Khoyol. In 2009, he moved to Shabab Sahel.
Moussa Hojeij returned to his beloved Nejmeh in 2011. He played for two more years before retiring as a player in 2013.
He also played for the Lebanon national team. In a match against Iraq at the 2000 AFC Asian Cup, he scored a goal from a free kick. This goal helped his team tie the game 2–2.
Becoming a Coach
After his playing career, Moussa Hojeij decided to become a football coach. He used his experience as a player to guide new teams.
First Coaching Roles
Hojeij started coaching in 2012 as a player-coach for Nejmeh. This meant he was both playing and coaching at the same time! In 2014, he became the head coach of Nabi Chit.
Later that same year, he took over Racing Beirut. He did a great job, helping them avoid being moved down to a lower league. In the 2015–16 season, he coached Shabab Sahel. The next season, he went back to Racing Beirut and won the Lebanese Challenge Cup with them.
Coaching Big Clubs
In 2017, Hojeij became the head coach of Ahed. He led them to a big win against Zamalek from Egypt in the 2017 Arab Club Championship. He also helped Ahed win the Lebanese Super Cup against Ansar.
After Ahed, he coached Tripoli for part of the season. He helped them finish in eighth place in the league.
Returning to Nejmeh
Moussa Hojeij has returned to coach Nejmeh many times. He coached them in 2018, and then again from 2020 to 2021. He came back to Nejmeh for a fourth time in February 2022.
In 2023, he coached Safa. In 2024, he became the coach of Tadamon Sour. Hojeij has shown great dedication to Lebanese football, both as a player and a coach.
