Mr. Bucket is a fun tabletop game that first came out in 1990. It's a toy published by Milton Bradley. The game features a plastic, motorized bucket that spits out colorful balls from its mouth. Players use small plastic shovels to quickly scoop up these balls. Your goal is to put them back inside Mr. Bucket before he pops them out again! This game has been released a few times, first in 1990, then again in 2007, and most recently in 2017.

How to Play Mr. Bucket

Setting Up the Game

To start playing Mr. Bucket, first scatter the colorful plastic balls. These balls come in blue, green, yellow, and red. Spread them all over the floor. Each player then picks a shovel. Your shovel's color matches the color of the balls you need to collect.

Playing the Game

One player switches on Mr. Bucket to begin the game. Once he's on, everyone starts scooping! You must quickly pick up the balls that match your shovel's color. Then, drop them into the top of Mr. Bucket.

While you are busy collecting, Mr. Bucket will surprise you. He regularly spits out one of the balls already inside him. This makes the game more challenging and exciting!

Winning the Game

The goal is simple: be the first player to get all three of your colored balls into Mr. Bucket. All three balls must be inside him at the same time to win. It's a race against Mr. Bucket and your friends!

Awards and Recognition

Mr. Bucket has been recognized for helping kids develop important skills. In 2005, Oa Therapy Associates included "Mr. Bucket" on their list of helpful toys. This clinic works with sensory problems. They noted that the game helps improve Hand-eye coordination. This skill is important for many daily activities.
