Mr. Marcelo (born August 13, 1976) is an American rapper. He is known for his music in the hip hop style. He was briefly signed to No Limit Records in the year 2000.
Mr. Marcelo released his first album, Brick Livin', on July 25, 2000. This album was released through No Limit Records. It received good reviews from critics. The album reached position #172 on the Billboard 200 chart. It also reached #43 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
Early Life and Beginnings
Mr. Marcelo was born and grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana. He lived in an area called the Magnolia Projects. He is the older brother of another rapper named Currensy.
Music Career Highlights
Mr. Marcelo first became known in 1992. This was because of his song "Hey P-Popper." This song was very popular for a dance at that time.
In 2000, he was featured on a song called "Whodi." This song was by the group 504 Boyz. Later that year, he released his first album, Brick Livin'. This album was his most successful.
He released a second album in 2001, titled Streetz Got Luv 4 Me. This album did not become as popular. In 2004, he released his third album, Still Brick Livin'. He put this album out on his own music label, Brick Livin Entertainment. His fourth album, Son of Magnolia, came out in 2006. He has also released several mixtapes. These are collections of songs, often shared for free.
