Muhammad Ali (born in 1874, died in 1951) was an important writer and scholar from British India and later Pakistan. He was a key leader in the Lahore Ahmadiyya Movement. This movement is a group within Islam. Muhammad Ali dedicated his life to teaching about what he believed was the true and original form of Islam.

About Muhammad Ali

Muhammad Ali was born in 1874 in a place called Murar. This area is now part of Punjab, India. He studied very hard and earned two important degrees in 1899. He got a Master of Arts degree in English. He also earned a Bachelor of Laws degree, which is for studying law.

In 1897, Muhammad Ali joined the Ahmadiyya Movement. He decided to spend his life working for this movement. He believed he was helping to restore the original and pure teachings of Islam. He passed away in Karachi on October 13, 1951. His burial place is in Lahore.

A British Muslim named Marmaduke Pickthall was a famous person who translated the Quran into English. He wrote a review about one of Muhammad Ali's books. The book was called The Religion of Islam and was published in 1936. Pickthall's review appeared in a journal called Islamic Culture.
