History of the Center
In 2020, the Muhammad Ali Center was recognized as an important place. It was added to the U.S. Civil Rights Trail. This trail includes many sites important to the history of civil rights in America. Another place added at the same time was the SEEK Museum in Russellville.
What You Can See at the Center
The Muhammad Ali Center teaches visitors about Ali's life and his beliefs. It focuses on six main ideas that guided him: confidence, conviction, dedication, giving, respect, and spirituality. Muhammad Ali used these ideas to inspire people worldwide. He worked hard to help others and be the best athlete he could be. He also stood up for what he believed was right.
Exploring Ali's Life and Boxing
When you visit, you can watch a film about Ali's life in a special theater. There's also a boxing ring that looks like his old training camp. You can see many items from Ali's boxing career. These include his gloves, belts, and other important things.
A large screen shows the movie The Greatest on a full-sized boxing ring. You can also go to booths to watch videos of Ali's best fights. These videos also show interviews with him before and after his matches.
Interactive Exhibits and Art
Another part of the center lets you think about yourself and your goals. You can use interactive screens to explore your sense of self and purpose. Visitors can even share what they are "fighting for" in special story booths.
The center also has two art galleries. These are the LeRoy Neiman Gallery and the Howard L. Bingham Gallery. They are on the third floor and show different art exhibits throughout the year.
