The Story of Monda
How Monda Began
The first Monda sweet was created in 1824. A talented person named Ram Gopal Pal made it. Everyone knew him as Gopal Pal. He offered his new sweet to Maharaja Suryakanta Acharya Chowdhury. The Maharaja was a very important landowner, called a zamindar, in Muktagacha.
A Sweet Success
Maharaja Suryakanta loved the Monda so much! He praised Gopal Pal a lot. The Maharaja then asked Gopal Pal to make Monda for all his special guests. This helped Monda become very famous. The zamindars even gave Gopal Pal money. This helped him make more Monda and grow his business.
Monda Today
Today, Gopal Pal's family still makes Monda. The business is now run by Sree Ramendranath Pal and his brothers. They are the fifth generation of Gopal Pal's family. This means the secret recipe has been passed down for many years!
