Mumper, Nebraska facts for kids
Mumper is a small, unincorporated community located in Garden County, Nebraska, in the United States. An unincorporated community means it's a place where people live, but it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town does. Instead, it's usually managed by the county.
History of Mumper
The community of Mumper was given its name to honor an important person: a female pioneer settler. Pioneers were brave people who moved to new, undeveloped areas to build homes and start new lives.
A post office was opened in Mumper in 1896. Post offices were very important back then because they were the main way people sent and received letters and packages. This post office served the community for many years until it closed down in 1943.
