Museum of Pizza facts for kids

The Museum of Pizza, also known as MoPi, was a special art show that appeared for a short time in Brooklyn, New York. It was open from October 13 to November 16, 2018. This event was a "pop-up exhibition", which means it was set up quickly for a limited time. It was also called a "selfie museum" because many of the art pieces were designed for visitors to take fun photos with.

During its six-week run, over 25,000 people visited the Museum of Pizza. It was a popular spot for anyone who loves pizza and cool art!

What Was the Museum of Pizza?

The Museum of Pizza was a unique place filled with art inspired by pizza. It wasn't a traditional museum that stays open forever. Instead, it was a temporary, fun experience. People could walk through different rooms, each with a new pizza-themed surprise.

Cool Art and Exhibits

The museum showed off artwork from more than 25 different artists. These artists created large, custom art pieces that were all about pizza. Imagine giant pizza slices or rooms that looked like a pizza!

• Some artists who showed their work included Adam Green, Shawna-x, Signe Pierce, Emma Stern, and Gazoo To The Moon.
• There was a special group art show called "The Psychedelic Pizza Parlor." This show was put together by RJ Supa. It featured art from Sarah Bahbah, Hein Kohn, and Adam Parker Smith.
• Even Andrew W.K.'s custom guitar, which looked like a pizza, was on display!

The Cheese Cave

One of the most talked-about parts of the museum was the "Cheese Cave." This exhibit was inspired by a real place! Kareem Rahma, who helped create the museum, got the idea from a beautiful cave system in Lebanon. The Cheese Cave was designed to make visitors feel like they were inside a giant, cheesy wonderland.

Pizza Box Collection

The museum also featured a very special collection of pizza boxes. These 70 boxes came from Scott Wiener, who holds a Guinness World Record for having the largest collection of pizza boxes! It was amazing to see so many different designs.

Who Created MoPi?

The Museum of Pizza was put together by a company called Nameless Network. They are a media company based in Brooklyn, New York. They specialize in creating unique and exciting experiences for people.

Special Preview Party

Before the museum officially opened to the public, a special preview party was held. This event took place at the New Museum, another famous art museum in New York City. It was a chance for people to get a sneak peek at the pizza-filled fun!
