My Place is an exciting Australian TV show made for children. It's a drama series based on a popular picture book with the same name. The book was written by Nadia Wheatley and Donna Rawlins.
The show first appeared on ABC3 in Australia. It started on December 4, 2009, and was shown on weeknights. Later, it even aired in the United States on Vibrant TV Network.
My Place was produced by Penny Chapman. Many talented directors worked on it, including Jessica Hobbs and Michael James Rowland. The show also has a cool interactive website for kids. This website lets you explore the house that is the main setting of the series. In 2010, My Place won a Logie Award for Best Children's Program!
In March 2010, Screen Australia announced more funding for the show. This allowed for a second series to be made. The second series explores the lives of children and their families from 1878 all the way back to before the White Settlement. Filming for the second series began in September 2010. The first of these new episodes started airing on June 26, 2011.
