Madeleine Madden (born October 10, 1997) is an Aboriginal Australian actress. She is best known for playing Egwene al'Vere in the exciting Amazon Prime series The Wheel of Time.

Early Life and Family Background
Madeleine Madden grew up in Redfern, a suburb in Sydney, Australia. She went to Rose Bay Secondary College. Her family has a strong history of working for Indigenous Australians' rights. Her mother, Hetti Perkins, is an art curator and writer.
A Family of Activists
Madeleine's family is well-known for their work in social justice. Her great-grandmother was Arrernte elder Hetty Perkins. Her grandfather, Charles Perkins, was a famous activist and soccer player. Her aunt, Rachel Perkins, is a director. Madeleine has two older sisters and two younger half-sisters, including actress Miah Madden.

Madeleine Madden started acting at a young age. She has appeared in many TV shows and movies. She is known for choosing roles that are important and interesting.
A Voice for the Nation
In 2010, when Madeleine was only 13 years old, she made history. She became the first teenager in Australia to give a speech to the whole country. Her two-minute speech was about the future of Indigenous Australians. It was shown on every free TV channel in Australia, reaching about 6 million people!
Television Roles
Madeleine has starred in many Australian TV shows. She was in Ready for This, which was Australia's first drama for Aboriginal teens. She also appeared in the highly praised show Redfern Now.
Other TV shows she has been in include The Moodys, Jack Irish, My Place, and The Code. In 2016, she starred in the mini-series Tomorrow, When the War Began. This show was based on popular young adult books by John Marsden.
In 2018, Madeleine played Marion Quade in Picnic at Hanging Rock. She also played Crystal Swan in Mystery Road and Immy DuPain in Pine Gap. In 2019, she took on the big role of Egwene al'Vere in Amazon's TV show The Wheel of Time, based on the fantasy novels.
Voice Acting and Film Work
Madeleine has also done voice acting. She voiced the main character, Helena Walker, in Ark: The Animated Series. Helena is an Aboriginal Australian character who is a paleontologist (someone who studies fossils).
In movies, Madeleine has appeared in short films by famous directors. She also co-starred with Christina Ricci and Jack Thompson in Around the Block. Her first movie role was when she was just 8 years old! She hopes to become a director herself one day.
In 2019, Madeleine made her big Hollywood movie debut. She played Sammy in the Nickelodeon film Dora and the Lost City of Gold.
