Mynämäki (pronounced like MY-na-ma-kee) is a town, also called a municipality, in Finland. It's located in the area known as Southwest Finland. The Swedish name for Mynämäki is Virmo.
Mynämäki is surrounded by several other towns. These include Aura, Eura, Laitila, Masku, Nousiainen, Pöytyä, Rusko, Taivassalo, Turku, and Vehmaa.
As of 31 December 2023, Mynämäki has a population of about 7,515 people. The total area of the municipality is around 536.08 square kilometres (206.98 sq mi). A small part of this area, about 16.37 km2 (6.32 sq mi), is water. This means that for every square kilometer, there are about 14.46 inhabitants per square kilometre (37.5/sq mi) people living there. The main language spoken in Mynämäki is Finnish.
Over the years, Mynämäki has grown by joining with other nearby municipalities. In 1977, the municipality of Karjala became part of Mynämäki. Later, in 2007, the municipality of Mietoinen also joined Mynämäki.

Augustin Ehrensvärd
Count Augustin Ehrensvärd (1710–1772) was a very important military leader. He was a Field Marshal, which is a high rank in the army. He is most famous for being the main architect behind the Suomenlinna fortress. This fortress is a huge sea fortress built off the coast of Helsinki, Finland.
Daniel Juslenius
Daniel Juslenius (1676–1752) was a Finnish professor and bishop. He was known for his work in studying and promoting the Finnish language and history.
Antti Lizelius
Antti Lizelius (1708–1795) served as the Vicar (a type of priest) of Mynämäki from 1761 to 1795. He is historically significant because he was the person who published the very first newspaper in the Finnish language. This newspaper was called Suomenkieliset Tietosanomat.
