Fun Festivals in Nívar
Nívar has two main festivals each year. These are special times for the community to celebrate together.
September Festival
One big festival happens on the second weekend of September. It celebrates the town's special saint, Santo Cristo de la Salud. People enjoy fun activities, cultural events, and sports. There is even a funny football game between single people and married people! A costume contest is held, and everyone shares a big community meal.
Day of the Cross
On May 3rd, Nívar celebrates the Day of the Cross. This is a local festival where people go on a special trip called a romeria. They walk to the cross on Sierra de la Yedra mountain. Along the way, they enjoy dancing and music. The trip ends with a shared meal. A religious service, called the Eucharist, is held near the iron cross at the top of the mountain.
