Nödinge-Nol is a town in Sweden. It is located in Västra Götaland County. This town is also the main center, or "seat," of Ale Municipality. In 2010, about 9,822 people lived here.

About Nödinge-Nol
Nödinge-Nol was not always one big town. It used to be three separate villages. These villages were Alafors, Nol, and Nödinge. Over time, they grew bigger and joined together. Now they form the single town we know today.
The town is about 20 kilometers (12 miles) northeast of Gothenburg. It sits right next to the E45 highway. The beautiful Göta Älv river is just to its east.
History of the Area
The Nödinge area was once called Kyrkby. People have built churches here for a very long time. There has been a church in this spot since the Middle Ages. The church building you see today was built in 1727. It is famous for its excellent paintings on the walls.
Life in Nödinge-Nol
The center of Nödinge-Nol has many apartment buildings. Around these buildings, you will find lots of open countryside. There are also many houses with gardens, called villas.
Shopping and Activities
The main shopping area is called Ale Torg. It is a shopping center with many different kinds of stores. There are also several important places for the community. These include a junior high school and a middle school. You can find an emergency room and a library here too.
For fun and sports, there is a sports arena. Golf lovers can enjoy a nine-hole golf course. If you have a small boat, there is even a harbor.
Getting Around
Public transport is easy in Nödinge-Nol. The Gothenburg commuter rail has two stations in the town. These are the Nödinge station and the Nol station. You can take a train from here to Gothenburg in about 15 minutes.
Nature and Scenery
The area around Nödinge-Nol is very beautiful. You will see some very steep hills near the Göta Älv river.
Vättlefjäll Nature Reserve
In the southeast, there is a special place called the Vättlefjäll nature reserve. This reserve is huge, covering about 2,567 hectares (6,343 acres). It has many hiking trails for you to explore. You will also find lakes of all sizes spread throughout the reserve.
Unique Landscape
The Göta Älv ridge is to the east of the town. Inside Nödinge-Nol itself, there are many steep hills. These hills are mixed with flat valleys. Today, these valleys are rich farmland. But long ago, this land was actually the bottom of the sea! The hills were once small islands in an old group of islands, or archipelago.
Local Specialties
The wider area of Ale is known for many things. You can find out more on the Ale Municipality page. Alafors is famous for its brewery, Ahlafors Bryggerier. Nol is known for its old factories that used to be very busy.
