Na'Shan Goddard grew up in Dayton, Ohio. He went to Dunbar High School there. After high school, he played college football for the University of South Carolina. He was a very talented player. In 2002, he was named a Freshman All-American. This means he was recognized as one of the best first-year players in the entire country. He was also named to the Sporting News Freshman All-SEC team.
Playing in the NFL and Beyond
After college, Na'Shan Goddard was not chosen in the NFL Draft in 2006. This made him an undrafted free agent. This means he was free to sign with any team that wanted him. He first signed with the New York Giants.
