Nabi Tajima (born August 4, 1900 – died April 21, 2018) was a Japanese woman who lived to be 117 years and 260 days old. This made her one of the oldest people ever recorded. For seven months, she was known as the oldest living person in the world. She was also the oldest person ever from Asia. Nabi Tajima was the very last person confirmed to have been alive during the 19th century.
Nabi Tajima became the oldest living person in Japan in 2015. She became the world's oldest verified living person in 2017. This happened after Violet Brown passed away at 117 years old.

Nabi Tajima was born in Araki. This village is in the western part of Kikaijima Island in Japan. She lived in Kikai for most of her life.
She had a very large family. Nabi Tajima had nine children, which included seven sons and two daughters. By September 2011, she had 28 grandchildren. She also had 56 great-grandchildren and 35 great-great-grandchildren. By September 2017, her family had grown even more. She had over 160 descendants, including great-great-great grandchildren.
Nabi Tajima passed away on April 21, 2018. She was at her home in Kikai, Kagoshima, Japan. She was 117 years old when she died.
