Nada Taleb Golmie is an American computer scientist and engineer. She leads a team that works on wireless networks at a place called the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).

Her Work and School

Nada Golmie started working at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in 1993. She was a research engineer there.

She earned her Ph.D. (a high-level degree) in computer science. This was from the University of Maryland, College Park. Her big project, called a thesis, was about how Bluetooth and Wi-Fi (802.11) networks can work together. This was in 2002. Her professor, A. Udaya Shankar, helped her with this work.

Today, she is the head of the wireless networks division at NIST. This division is part of the Communications Technology Laboratory. Her research focuses on how wireless devices connect and share information. She has written over 200 papers about her work. These papers have been shared at conferences and in journals. They have also helped create international standards for technology.

Golmie is also part of the NIST Public Safety Communication Research program. She helps with projects that use computer models to test new wireless systems. This includes working on 5G technology. She helps make sure that police, firefighters, and other emergency services can communicate well.

Awards and Honors

In 2022, Nada Golmie was chosen as an IEEE Fellow. This is a special honor given to people who have made big contributions to technology. She received this award for her work on wireless technologies and standards.
